The Minister of Infrastructure of Buenos Aires, Gabriel Katopodis, visited Lomas de Zamora to inspect the progress of work on Provincial Route 4, a strategic corridor in the metropolitan area with high traffic flow connecting various districts. According to reports, this is a 27-kilometer stretch running from the San Justo Roundabout to the intersection with Hipólito Yrigoyen Avenue, with between 33,000 and 62,000 vehicles passing daily. The project affects an area of influence estimated at 4 million people and traverses several municipalities, distributed as follows: 13.3 km in Almirante Brown, 5.2 km in Lomas de Zamora, 3.8 km in La Matanza, 2.9 km in Esteban Echeverría, 1.5 km in Ezeiza, and 0.3 km in Merlo. The project includes comprehensive reconstruction, pavement improvements, and complementary work to organize intersections and traffic flow, focusing on reducing travel times and accident rates on a route that combines local, logistics, and public transport.
In the latest progress report, it was stated that 1.3 km has already been completed, and another 3.1 km are under construction on different fronts.
